National
Park:
The Parc des Volcans d’Auvergne is Europe’s largest National Park,
75 miles north to south, “protected because of its special beauty and fragility”.
It includes two different ranges of mountains, both rising over 6,000 feet. The
southern part of the Park, especially in the department of Cantal, is quiet,
beautiful and truly rural.
